Some of the more common behaviours that I am asked to help with include:
Anxiety/destructive behaviour when left alone
Aggression towards dogs
Aggression towards people
Fears and phobias
Obsessive compulsive disorders
Inappropriate toileting and house-training problems
Jumping up on visitors
I can also help with many other dog behaviour problems not listed above.
It is important to appreciate that some behaviours, although unwanted by the owner, may be natural for a dog. These normal behaviours may be considered undesirable by an owner if they are displayed too much, too frequently, or in the wrong place. I can advise how these behaviours can best be managed using behaviour modification and changes to the dogs environment and/or daily routine.
Because behaviour problems may arise as a result of an injury or disease it is important that a thorough physical examination and check for underlying disease is carried out by your vet before a behaviour consultation.
If you feel you and your dog could benefit from a consultation please contact me by phone or email.
